Garsington Opera’s popular spring concerts held in the Great Barn will feature the renowned Schubert Ensemble playing quintets by Martinů, Schubert and Fauré on Saturday 25 April, as well as an evening of Eastern European, Balkan and Klezmer music by the She’Koyokh Klezmer Ensemble playing on percussion, clarinet, accordion, violin, trombone, guitar, mandolin and double bass on Saturday 2 May.  Music ranges from exhilarating Balkan dance music to calm, soulful Ashkenazi melodies from countries including Poland, Romania and the Ukraine.

Concert goers can enjoy walking through the gardens with their ancient yew hedges, Italian statues, pools, secret places and breathtaking views.  A wine bar run by Chilli Pepper, a local, family-run, prize-winning caterers who have just been awarded the Garsington Opera contract, will be serving light refreshments before the concert and during the twenty minute interval.  Picnics can be ordered in advance or brought in to the garden.
