Wayside School Is Falling Down by Louis Sachar

Wayside School has 30 storeys but no 19th fl oor. Mrs Zarves teaches on the 19th floor, but there is no Mrs Zarves. Welcome to the weird and wacky world of Wayside!

books-bus-bookEvery chapter brings out a new, exciting adventure to the pupils in Mrs Jewls’ class on the 30th fl oor. I laughed out loud when she used a computer to demonstrate gravity … by throwing it out of the window! This is the kind of event that happens every day to some of the hilarious characters, such as Louis the yard teacher and Ron who dared to try Miss Mush’s Mushroom Surprise.

The author, Louis Sachar, has written many other books, including the bestselling Holes. In my opinion Wayside School is Falling Down is a brilliant story with unexpected things happening in unexpected places. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes funny tales with a twist

by Rachel Brown, age 10, Kirtlington Primary.
